Medicine, Choices and True Healing

by Lisa Rose, Hairdresser, Perth, Western Australia

I attended my first Universal Medicine workshop 8 years ago after a friend gave me a flyer. I looked at it and said ‘yes’ immediately. It was the first time I had ever considered something other than visiting my GP or a naturopath when things were out of sorts.

After completing the workshop I felt an enormous shift in my body, which made me realise that I could live in a ‘different way’ – one which listens to and honours my body. I could feel more space in my body and my thoughts were clearer, giving me a sense of well-being, physically and mentally. It was as if all the things that were weighing me down day to day had been removed and I could enjoy being more of me, rather than the heaviness of life’s experiences, etc. tainting my thoughts and physical being. I clearly recall saying to my mum the next day that “I never want to return to how I was feeling before I did the workshop”.

I have since attended about one workshop per year and each time felt the opportunity to let go of more and more ‘stuff’ that is not actually me: beliefs, ideals, habits – all of which get in the way of my truly expressing the love I am.

In a practical sense, what I was living with included depression (anti-depressant medication), panic attacks, regular urinary tract infections, missing periods, smoking addiction, alcohol abuse, under-eating, obsessive body image, regular emotional outbursts, blaming others, running away from my problems, giving up on myself and others, thyroid problems and back and neck pain.

It has been an amazing journey as all ‘the stuff’ that is not me begins to slowly fall away. The relationship I have with myself has slowly become more loving and gentle. I can recognise where I need to support myself on a daily basis now so that I don’t collect more ‘stuff’ – knowing that it doesn’t serve me or anyone I come into contact with. I am able to allow myself to be more of who I am, and now I have a lot more support to offer others instead of feeling weighed down with problems of my own. I see every day, and what it presents to me, as an opportunity to practise staying present, allowing myself to feel and learn from my body. Some days I am more present than others due to how I have been with myself previously. Making the most loving choice in any given situation is something I am working on every day.

I can’t express enough that for me, the feeling in my body is my ‘marker of truth’. What this means is once I had a feeling of how it felt to be gentle in my body, and knew that this could be maintained on a daily basis, whenever I feel my body is sore or tight or there is a pain or stress developing, I now know it means I need to check back in with how I was living the day before. With that reference I can then bring myself back to being caring and gentle with myself.

By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically. This includes booking in for sessions with a practitioner or doctor from time to time, but I no longer go in with the desperation for them to ‘fix me’, but rather for their support. Of course medicine and surgery can all be a necessary part of healing, along with being aware of the choices we make on a daily basis, and I have found that Western Medicine and Esoteric Medicine work well together. Once upon a time I used to have to go to a Physiotherapist regularly for all the different pains in my neck and my back: now my body is pain-free and feels lighter than it ever did in my 20’s.

The love and support that I have had from Universal Medicine has helped me to make this awesome change in my life.

  1. Lisa you have shared so clearly the power of how we live, and how supported the body is, as well as our emotional and mental wellbeing, by a loving and gentle way of life. It’s so simple too as we allow the body to give us feedback and it can then lead the way. This means that the care we develop for ourselves, including in our diet, is unique to our own body and responsive to any change it might require based on exactly where we are at on any given day. I really enjoy the simple things like knowing when my body wants salad and other times it wants cooked veggies or soup, that can change based on the weather, where my digestion is at, or if I’ve been unwell. It’s very simple but the depth of care is in those details.

    1. Listening to and honouring our bodies is a great part of looking after our well-being, ‘ The relationship I have with myself has slowly become more loving and gentle. ‘

  2. I agree Doug it is shocking that we compare how well we are to how unwell other people are. It’s got to a point where if you don’t have cancer you are very well because everyone seems to have it or know of someone who has it. We now rate our health against a list of what have become common diseases that years ago when I was young where hardly ever, if at all, heard of. So how come our health has deteriorated so quickly in such a seemingly short pace of time?

  3. Having a relationship with the body and honouring it as the marker of truth is so powerful, particularly when the world is saturated with so many things that promise to ease/remove pains and symptoms so that we can just carry on business as usual and it is all about numbing and distracting.

    1. I agree with you Fumiyo building a relationship with our bodies is so delightful, it makes me wonder why we are in such resistance to it. It is so deeply settling all that anxiousness and nervous tension we all seem to live with just melts away.

  4. That is incredible to get this from just after 1 workshop!!!!! ‘After completing the workshop I felt an enormous shift in my body, which made me realise that I could live in a ‘different way’ – one which listens to and honours my body.’

  5. I love the practicality of what you have shared, lived wisdom which any one could accept and live, if they felt too. These days there are so many courses and modalities offering quick fixes, and few actually deliver, but Universal Medicine is not one of them. They offer true healing, that will probably take a little longer than the quick fix, but as far as I am concerned, absolutely worth it.

  6. I took part in a group exercise presented by an Esoteric teacher and part of the exercise was to think negative thoughts about myself while someone else was talking and that feeling of givenupness came over me it was as though a black cloud had settled over my head and was saturating me with this dullness, it was quite horrible, but so familiar. After the exercise we were advised how to get such ghastly energy out of our bodies and the negative thoughts went to be replaced by a feeling of being back with myself, such a relief. I do not think that we give any credence to the fact that we are bombarded by energy all the time as it passes through us and it affects everything we do. Through the teachings and presentation of Universal Medicine I have relearnt to be aware of what energy is passing through my body and now have a choice as to what energy I am choosing.

  7. There is such a body of irrefutable evidence now having attending Universal Medicine, their courses and workshops etc., why isn’t there any research conducted on the students? We are told that mental health issues are escalating within our society then here is a place to start. For example I had mental health issues until, with the support and understanding I received from Universal Medicine, I was able to make healthier, more life affirming choices that resulted in me no longer suffering depression and mental health problems. Surely this is worth investigating?

  8. I agree Doug and this is something I was also feeling reading and reflecting on this, it is like if we can function then that is okay!!!!!! However this is not okay and should definitely not be our normal. Living a life of vitality, joy, harmony, stillness and wellbeing at the least should be our ‘normal’.

  9. WOW what if we all lived like this? Listening to and responding to our body? I am guessing there would be a lot less stress put on GPs, family, nurses and hospitals to name a few. Truly inspiring, showing us actually there is a different way to live and that ultimately it is up to us to ask ourselves what are we choosing.

    1. How simple to live in such a way that what is not truly you simply begins to fall away, ‘It has been an amazing journey as all ‘the stuff’ that is not me begins to slowly fall away.’

  10. Before Universal Medicine all my issues were being sweep under a rug and by being transparent the most amazing healing can take place as you have shared Lisa.

  11. When we take responsibility over our own life, body and wellbeing we are not at the mercy of how the world is and what is asked of us but stand with two feet on the ground, solidly and there for everyone not only ourself.

  12. Attending a Universal Medicine workshop is like having a spring clean and disposing of the mental junk mail.

  13. To have a known in your body that shows something different, that points to a way of being which is more spacious, more free, and more loving, is huge, for once we know that we become more aware of all those times when we don’t feel that way, and we know that’s not our norm, and that is the big thing, for in noticing stress and clocking it as not normal we’re allowing more of a living way which is truly gentle and supportive of the body.

  14. “I could feel more space in my body and my thoughts were clearer, giving me a sense of well-being, physically and mentally”. If there is one thing that I most appreciate about what Universal Medicine presents is that when we connect to our body and respect it, you are no longer at the mercy of what is going on around you. You can feel steady and settled even there are dramas around you. I see this as the most fundamental shift we need to take to support our health and wellbeing.

    1. And when we can let go of the feeling that we are at the ‘mercy of everything that is going on around’ us, we are ready to let go of being the victim, and life begins to change in many amazing ways. I know this to be true, as this is exactly what happened for me, with the quality of my life and my health improving immeasurably.

  15. Feeling that sense of innate gentleness is one thing, knowing and feeling that it can be maintained is a another. What is amazing to feel is that the gentleness is our natural way of being and is there all of the time – not something that needs to be created, fixed or applied. The knowing and feeling that the sense of gentleness can be maintained is more of a letting go: trusting that we don’t need those layers of protection that cut us off from that gentleness and make us feel like it’s not there.

  16. Lisa your experience is what thousands of people have felt having attended a presentation of Serge Benhayon, he offers very practical advise about life that we do not have to be the slaves of it but rather master ourselves and then life becomes easy. I found that my mind was controlling me I had very negative thoughts swirling round all the time. No one has been able to explain thoughts and where they come from like Serge Benhayon and thank heavens they are actually not mine because quite frankly l hate some of the thoughts that randomly pop into my mind and I have always wondered where they came from. It’s truly fascinating to discover that by changing my movements I can change the thoughts that enter my mind why are we not taught this from young? If changing my movements supported me with depression then surely when mental health is increasing year on year society needs to know about this so that others can be supported too.

  17. Lisa that is really a change you have made and it is a joy to read about it. With your openness you showed that it is possible to heal through more self loving choices – how wonderful is that.

  18. It feels like my body is constantly unravelling, each time I attend another course or workshop it feels like there is another shift or a blockage cleared and if I reflect over the years I have been attending courses there is no comparison with how I look and feel now compared to how I looked and felt then.

  19. Whenever I have done a workshop with Universal Medicine I have felt a real tangible effect or shift in my body and how I feel which can not be denied or doubted.

  20. When we pay attention to our body and not let our thoughts over ride what we feel it is amazing how much healing we can offer the body, and in turn how much this can change our life.

    1. Being present allows us to be connected with, and feel our body, ‘I see every day, and what it presents to me, as an opportunity to practise staying present, allowing myself to feel and learn from my body.’

  21. It is amazing the healing changes that can happen in our lives when we bring in self-loving choices. Thank you Lisa for sharing the beautiful healings that have changed your life.

  22. I went to my first workshop about 10 or 11 years ago and my take away from regular attendance of the presentation and workshops of Serge Benhayon is that before meeting him I was extremely hard on myself, very judgmental and self-abusive, and withdrawn from life.
I have been totally supported to change all this to develop a respect and deep understanding of myself and the part I have to play in life. Finally, here was someone that was prepared to stand up and say that the way we abuse ourselves and others is not a true way to live, and instead offers an easy and practical way to re-establish harmony with ourselves and all others.

    1. I can relate with what you share here Mary, before meeting Serge Benhayon, and I know many other people do too, ‘before meeting him I was extremely hard on myself, very judgmental and self-abusive, and withdrawn from life.’ Why were we not naturally loving and supportive of ourselves before meeting Serge Benhayon?

  23. There is a beautiful line in this article about how staying present with your body during the day is actually helping you to heal. Showing the great power of your presence and the loving delicacy of your body.

  24. This really highlights for me the power of being more in tune with our body through the day and honouring what we become aware of through this.

  25. “I can recognise where I need to support myself on a daily basis now so that I don’t collect more ‘stuff’ – the word ‘collect’ here really stood out for me. It really is a collection, isn’t it – how we accumulate and hold onto ideals, beliefs, emotions, incidents, relationships etc. etc. and how we think these are the things that form and identify us as an individual and we find familiarity and safety in that, even when they may not feel that great. If we truly know ourselves by our true essence and live our everyday life from that place, we no longer need anything outside of us to let us know who we are.

  26. “The love and support that I have had from Universal Medicine has helped me to make this awesome change in my life.” This is true medicine supporting ourselves to make true change, rather than handing our body over to the medical profession and saying ‘fix it’ without recognising the part we played in becoming sick.

  27. When we begin to acknowledge and appreciate the amazing journey human life is we start to become aware that in every moment there is the opportunity to grow and learn.

  28. “By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically. This includes booking in for sessions with a practitioner or doctor from time to time, but I no longer go in with the desperation for them to ‘fix me’, but rather for their support.” Yes when we allow ourselves to feel what our body needs at any one time – and respond to that call – true healing is possible.

  29. ‘In a practical sense, what I was living with included depression (anti-depressant medication), panic attacks, regular urinary tract infections, missing periods, smoking addiction, alcohol abuse, under-eating, obsessive body image, regular emotional outbursts, blaming others, running away from my problems, giving up on myself and others, thyroid problems and back and neck pain.’ Wow, I love your honesty here, what you were living with ( and you share that with a lot of other people as it is not the norm to make loving choices for ourselves, our body) and how you live now is a beautiful testimonial on what can happen when we start to live what Universal Medicine presents.

  30. Universal Medicine courses and workshops do offer a great level of space which helps us to feel ourselves before the issues etc. so we can observe them and change them. When we are immersed in our emotions and issues this is not so easy.

  31. Healing, is our way back home. Healing not necessarily in the physical sense, but the energetic healing that takes place when we surrender and allow ourselves to be part of the divinity (that is always a heavenly source of energy).

  32. A beautiful testimony Lisa on the power of the Esoteric Modalities and the true healing they offer the body.

  33. I agree Lisa, with Universal Medicine Therapies my body is free of the physical/structural/mechanical issues that used to plague me and have me at some therapist of other almost weekly just to maintain.

  34. Thank you Lisa for sharing how much your life has changed after coming to Universal Medicine workshops, and how bringing more love and presence ad gentleness into your life you have been able to heal, a testament to the power of our love.

  35. The changes to the quality of life when we reconnect to our bodies can be miraculous. Thank you for sharing your transformation by simply paying attention to your body and listening to it’s messages.

  36. What you offer is so simple but yet completely inspiring. The way that you committed to never returning to the way you felt before that work shop is moving, it is so absolute! I have many friends and family that suffer from similar condition that you describe earlier in your blog, this article feels like it will support people that might be standing on the fringe looking in thinking that they need to be something to be involved in healing. People that may be afraid to get help but the truth is, we help ourselves, healing is simply a relationship with yourself and you make that very clear in your no-nonsense article.

  37. Lisa I appreciated what you shared about checking in on how you were the day before if you body felt tight or painful in any way, I forget to do this. Our every move and choice effects the body. Whether it’s yesterday or a few years ago everything we do has an impact on our health and wellbeing.

  38. The way we live and our everyday choices make a huge impact on our body, and by changing our choices to more loving ones we are able to feel the positive benefits within our body.

  39. I love what you say at the end – “The love and support that I have had from Universal Medicine has helped me to make this awesome change in my life” – this is such a great reminder for me that it is not what I get given as means of teachings and healings that bring changes in my life, it is how I apply and live the teachings.

    1. It’s lovely what you have highlighted here Fumiyo, and the true empowerment of how we apply and live the Ageless Wisdom teachings as presented by Universal Medicine.

    2. Yes indeed… It is always how we apply things otherwise we are just entering and contributing to the world of knowledge which benefits no one.

  40. “I can recognise where I need to support myself on a daily basis now so that I don’t collect more ‘stuff’” – this really stood out for me. And that support can be as simple as choosing to eat/sleep in response to what the body is asking for. What I have been experiencing is when I allow even the smallest amount of disregard, it creates an opening for what does not belong to enter, so easily, and by the time I know it I feel like I am deeply entrenched in the stuff I thought I had dealt with long ago and feel as though I am back to the square one – which is actually not true. It really is about how I am choosing to live every moment of every day.

  41. I can relate to what you share, I never used to pay much attention to my body, I would just look for a quick fix when I got sick and then I would keep going. It makes common sense to look at how our bodies respond to things but this level of care just never really occurred to me to this degree before I heard Serge present on the body and how it communicates to us.

  42. ‘By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically.’ Isn’t this awesome? Who would believe that this could be true, yet I know that it is ….and I am still learning to be with me in my body and not in my head where I fall prey to all sorts of thoughts and suggestive paths of action. Being well and truly centred in the body, connected to a harmony within has me/us expanding in light and love without any trying.

  43. Lisa, thank you for sharing the changes you have made and the consequence of them on your life. Am amazing turnaround.

  44. Going to our doctor or practitioner without the demand or need for them to fix us is huge. By being willing to take responsibility for our own health and to go instead for their professional support whilst making changes we need to for ourselves, we remove irresponsibility from the equation which allows true healing to take place.

    1. Very true Lucy and already our health systems are overloaded… we each have a responsibility here. Our lifestyle choices have an impact on not only us but the whole.

    2. Bringing in responsibility to how we live is an important part of healing, ‘The love and support that I have had from Universal Medicine has helped me to make this awesome change in my life.’

  45. ” now my body is pain-free and feels lighter than it ever did in my 20’s. ” Thank you Lisa , is it not amazing how far you have come from where you were to where you are now ” pain free ” . Its so wonderfull that going to one presentation by Universal medicine has inspired your recovery.

  46. “It was as if all the things that were weighing me down day to day had been removed and I could enjoy being more of me, rather than the heaviness of life’s experiences, etc. tainting my thoughts and physical being.” I remember feeling so much lighter after attending Universal Medicine courses, the things that would usually weigh me down no longer had the importance I had given them and I was able to enjoy more of me. It showed to me how much our thoughts can influence how we feel.

  47. There is nothing like living in connection with and honour of the body that is after all with us 24/7, year and and year out. Discarding it has never made sense and abusing it is a slippery slope.

  48. All this from merely taking more care and being more aware of what your body was actually feeling? So simple and yet so so supportive and a thing we can all do for ourselves. So often before Universal Medicine I would find myself down a road feeling lost and wondering what the world was about, there were so many questions and yet now my life has changed because I have changed. I no longer go to the world for answer but more look at the world as a reflection. It is a relationship with feeling and being aware from your body of how things feel, it makes true sense to listen to all you have. Meaning you have a whole body that goes everywhere with you and is in every situation so why not consider it closely when you are facing something, it’s so simple and from there possibly too simple.

  49. I have come to see that the marriage of Esoteric Medicine and Western Medicine is what humanity needs to heal the escalating rise of illness and disease. Western Medicine has some amazing tools to offer those who are needing treatments but for me there has always been something missing from the healing that is being offered, and that is the reason why the illness and disease has occurred in the first place; that with the support of Universal Medicine I am beginning to understand.

  50. “I am able to allow myself to be more of who I am, and now I have a lot more support to offer others instead of feeling weighed down with problems of my own.” – Truly taking care of and giving ourselves the space and true support to heal is invaluable for everyone as how we are affects everyone around us too…

  51. A great blog on having the awareness of our bodies and the details of how we move day to day and how this unlocks old ways or behaviours that no longer serve us so we can begin a new movement. Simply awesome, thank you Lisa.

  52. It is an awesome change Lisa to what you have changed – it’s truly miraculous. The grandest choice – “Making the most loving choice in any given situation is something I am working on every day.”

  53. Committing to everyday constantly developing the relationship we have with ourselves is essential for our general health and wellbeing.

  54. “The love and support that I have had from Universal Medicine has helped me to make this awesome change in my life.” I echo that. And instead of constantly fretting about me, me, me, I now know who I am and am able to offer the same love and support to others.

    1. Once we live with love and care, we are then able to inspire others that there is another way to live, that they too can have and be love.

  55. Modern day miracles do happen, especially when you hear of people who have suffered for years and then after taking up the Esoteric way of life their health improves beyond any expectations.

  56. What is being offered at Universal Medicine is so very needed in the world now… It is not a quick fix, it is not a Band-Aid solution, it goes to the core and heals from within with extraordinary integrity and a deep love for humanity.

  57. This article represents that our health and wellbeing begins with ourselves and our willingness to care for our bodies, with the grace of accepting the care they require is often very much different to the care another body requires, so our attention must not be to should do’s that are delivered constantly from outside of ourselves, but from our body itself, and its very distinct requirements, that can change day by day, something that we begin to feel and honour as we again make our bodies the directors of our life.

  58. There’s two very different ways to live, one where we listen to our head and one where we listen to our body, and I agree with you that the body has much more wisdom and is much more honest. Learning to listen to our bodies is so simple but so completely life-changing.

    1. Listening to our head can get us into trouble, whereas when listening to and honouring our bodies we are supported with wisdom and love.

  59. If people just practiced staying present in everything they did, allowing themselves to feel and learn from their bodies, the world would be a vastly different place, for listening to the wisdom of the body would constantly guide them in making more loving and honouring choices throughout each and every day and they would undoubtedly experience the healing and transformation that you and many others have from choosing to move through life with this as their foundation.

  60. I can remember attending many appointments with a variety of health professionals fueled by “the desperation for them to ‘fix me’” – and then of course being disappointed many times when they didn’t; I was living the ‘ambulance at the bottom of the cliff’ scenario like so many of us do. Learning to take responsibility for my own health through my own choices has totally changed this scenario as now I go to an appointment looking for support to understand what is going on in my body and then to work with the practitioner to facilitate a healing.

  61. It is amazing to feel how every little change and new choice we make in our lives has an enormous impact on our health, well-being and our relationships. Thank you Lisa for sharing about the shifts in your life due to your choices – very inspiring.

  62. Self care is a great medicine and I have changed and healed so much in my life, from mainly going into reactions with others, and taking on others emotions. Over the years my self-care has refined that today I can deeply appreciate myself for how healthy and vital I feel every day. It started with self-care which led to self-love.

    1. Self-care and self-love affect our health and well-being beyond what is imaginable, so why are these important ways of living not part of our lives from day one?

  63. “By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically.” Thank you Lisa for sharing your amazing experience. True healing power resides in the body and as we listen to our bodies signals, and bring in loving care, that love enables our bodies to truly heal.

  64. The work is ours to do and the choices are ours to make – the UM workshops give the keys and tools and then it is up to us to put them into practice. True and lasting change comes from this place, as you have experienced and shared Lisa Rose.

  65. Your list of ailments sounds very common and is the norm for many people. I love what you share and that it was a simple step away from what you had been caught in and a choice to come back to you. No magic tricks, no fanfare, no fancy show – just a choice. Something we are all capable of.

  66. Universal Medicine literally is here to support everyone on the part of return back to themselves… It never closes its doors, irrespective of all the reactions that it gets… Is a shining example of true love.

  67. Thank you for sharing your story Lisa, it is inspiring how we can choose to develop our relationship with our bodies and the experiencing of the true magic and divineness within us all.

  68. I loved your story Lisa – and have experienced similar since learning, through Universal Medicine, how to choose to connect to myself. And I love this gem of a line from it: ‘Making the most loving choice in any given situation is something I am working on every day.’ Choosing love in every moment is indeed a daily discipline of the most beautiful kind.

  69. ‘I no longer go in with the desperation for them to ‘fix me’, but rather for their support’ – there does come a time when we shift from wanting someone to fix us quickly to us realising it is our responsibility to heal ourselves, and in truth no one can do it for us.

  70. I am with you Lisa. There is no doubt that a far greater richness comes to life when we choose to be aware of how our bodies feel, and honor the truth that it always reflects, as we are offered the opportunity to freely live more of who we truly are.

  71. I can very much relate to this – it was so liberating when I realised that so much stuff I accumulated over the years getting identified and held onto as ‘me’ was actually not ‘me’ but in fact was what was solidifying the life I so wanted to change, and I had the body to reflect that hardness.

  72. “I can’t express enough that for me, the feeling in my body is my ‘marker of truth’.” Learning and appreciating that how my body is feeling is a reflection of the consequences of my choices and that by understanding this I, like you Lisa, have been able to transform my life from an unhealthy, and in truth a joyless life, to one full of vitality and joy.

    1. Beautiful point jstewart51. Through our connection to our bodies the truth of the choices we make are revealed. As such we then have the opportunity to make changes that support the well-being of our bodies so that love, joy and the vitality of who we are is naturally lived more and more.

  73. I read the list of things Lisa Rose was living with ‘depression, panic attacks etc…) and caught myself thinking how normal such experiences have become for many people. The understanding that our bodies are innately wise and are always communicating with us is vital to a shift in our mentality about health in my opinion. We have to review what is normal in terms of our health has become and realise that a paradigm shift is needed to a more self-loving way of being.

  74. Discovering that ‘the stuff’ is not actually oneself and that by reconnecting with one’s body and thereby to oneself is truly healing and liberating, as you share Lisa. This is transformational and an inspiration for others who are in the same place that you were in.

  75. True healing comes just and only from our own choices – all else is just supporting. We are so powerful. Great to have Universal Medicine on our side, which does support us in claiming our power back into every day living.

  76. To attend Universal Medicine events is to claim that there is more to life than what we experience on a day to day without investigating why we feel so unhealthy and disharmonious. I too have benefitted enormously from my work with this organisation to the point that now I understand that the more I care for myself the more I am available to support others to realise their potential – our real purpose. We are all in life together!

  77. It has become very evident to me that our choices play a great part in our health, the more loving choices we make, the more tender we are able to be with ourselves the more this is reflected throughout our whole body.

  78. When we taste the truth once again, rarely can we go back to living a lie. And if we do, the seed of our discontent is not so easy to ignore anymore.

  79. You’ve stated the livingness in the most simplistic beauty Lisa Rose – a pleasure to read.

  80. I too have found that “By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day” I am able to hear the messages that it is constantly giving me, whereas in the past when I didn’t take the time to check in very much at all, the messages were simply lost in the complications of the day. The consequences of not listening to my body was that I was regularly brought to a grinding halt by an illness or an injury and then, and only then, would I begin to listen; not a very wise way to live.

  81. That list of illness and ill behaviour you offered Lisa reads as quite disturbing and yet most of these things are very common and almost considered to be a normal part of existence. The fact that we can move beyond that point of view, see them as not normal and possessing a sensitivity to see things another way, could be viewed as a burden. In truth it is a great thing which when guided by love is the same sensitivity that embraces all the changes we make to claim a new normal comprising of greatly improved health and vitality as you describe.

  82. Great observation about the difference between expecting others to “fix” us, or to seek their support as part of choosing to self care and take full responsibility for ourselves. It may seem subtle on the surface but it’s powerfully different. Very inspiring blog Lisa.

  83. The quality within the workshops is quite profound in that attending the workshop there is a quality of life being lived in those presenting that is not normally seen or felt in the world today. It makes then ‘normal’ life stand out more. But recently I have noticed that that quality is not restricted to Universal Medicine courses because as I live and apply the teachings into my life that same quality comes with it into my life. That then leads to conversations and workplaces and where I live containing that standout quality. It then allows others that same experience which comes from and is strengthened by my choice to deal with my stuff, the stuff that keeps us from feeling this deeper, more loving quality in life.

  84. “The love and support that I have had from Universal Medicine has helped me to make this awesome change in my life.” Absolutely Lisa there is no comparison of how my life was before Universal Medicine to how it is now, I now wake with a vitality and a zest for life that I never knew was possible.

  85. The body has a wealth of intelligence, so true. Universal Medicine’s presentations when applied to life are truly transformative.”By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically.” Thank you for sharing Lisa, there is so much to appreciate.

  86. Letting go of our ‘stuff’ lightens the load we carry around all day every day quite significantly….

  87. Learning to appreciate and feel that our body IS the marker of truth has been a revelation to me that I am still understanding. Life long learning one could say.

  88. Reading what you’ve shared here Lisa, I cannot but be ENORMOUSLY APPRECIATIVE of the work of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine. Embracing this work has been life-changing, and offered the deepest and true inspiration that could ever be had, to say ‘yes’ to all that I am, and liberate myself from the many chains I have allowed to weigh me down – for far, far too long…
We are all worthy of such miraculous inner and outer change in our lives, as so many now have experienced due to this work. It is precious, amazing and powerful beyond measure.

  89. This so deeply echoes my own experience Lisa: “It was as if all the things that were weighing me down day to day had been removed and I could enjoy being more of me, rather than the heaviness of life’s experiences, etc. …”
The Esoteric Modalities (or Universal Medicine Therapies) that Serge Benhayon has delivered to humanity, offer us just this opportunity – to feel we are ‘ourselves’ once more, unencumbered by much of life’s impositions and bombardments, by the ‘heaviness’ as you say, of what we may have taken on, and may be living in our day to day. Once this marker is felt within us, it can be (if we so choose) the true instigator of change – for we have a reference of what it feels like to be us, in all the true beauty that this is. All that is not in line with this can be lovingly considered and viewed, and discarded – as we are ready and willing to do so.

  90. This is great Lisa Rose, I recall also ‘how out of control’ my life had been and coming into middle age how I had put myself under the ‘discipline’ of a spiritual group to have more order in my life, but that never actually brought me to a lasting sense of my true self worth. This all changed through studying and receiving healing sessions with Universal Medicine. The moments I now feel a little wayward are ok because of the strong sense of purpose and commitment to life and to love that is now a true foundation held and thoroughly enjoyed in most of each and every day. This is remarkable and to be celebrated compared to how life used to be.

  91. It really is amazing how quickly our bodies restore themselves when we listen to their constant conversations and support them through our commitment to love and cherish ourselves.

  92. ‘By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically’ This is amazing what you are sharing here. You are taking responsibility for your own healing journey and heeding the wisdom of your own body. This change in you has come about because of attending workshops with Universal medicine and by seeing quality practitioners for support. The main healing though is in your own commitment and awakening awareness. This is what Universal Medicine can and does support consequently offering change and a return to true health.

  93. So many in the world are living with the same list of “stuff” that you were Lisa, and sadly it has become part of them, a normal way to feel and live – or is that just exist?. But you have shown so clearly this doesn’t have to be so, there is another way to live, the one that you have discovered, where your body is lovingly supported to release all the “stuff” that weighs you down and prevents you from truly living the life that is naturally yours to live.

  94. I can relate to what you are saying in doing a course with Universal Medicine, the feeling of clarity in thought and the overall feeling of the body feeling much lighter and freer.

  95. We are truly blessed to have access to the presentations by Serge Benhayon as well as to the Ageless Wisdom at this point in time, showing us a different and truer way of living, which is true medicine for the body.

  96. Lisa Rose this a beautiful confirmation of the choice to make life about taking responsibility and the domino effect it has on the way we live everyday. Thank you.

  97. As a very wise man has often said, the way we live is our greatest medicine. Your experience proves that

  98. It is always wonderful and refreshing to read about people’s trust for their connection to their bodies and how they are becoming more responsible for their own healing. I never had the sort of problems described in this blog, instead always being very ‘functional’, yet the Universal Medicine workshops still provided a great shift, from coping ok and even doing well to appreciating how much more quality of life could be enjoyed everyday and how that applied to my relationships and understanding the true purpose of being alive.

  99. Wow Lisa, that is quite a shift in your health, isn’t it amazing what we can do for our own health when we choose to discard behaviours that we know are not supportive. I myself certainly feel clearer in my thoughts than I ever did before I first attended a Universal Medicine workshop, and it is much easier to understand human behaviour, my own and other peoples from what I have learned on the courses.

  100. “By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically.” This an enormous shift in self empowerment and understanding healing and medicine, bringing them back to healing ourselves. It is testament to how real, practical and effective Universal Medicine courses are.

  101. What a huge difference you made Lisa by just having gentleness introduced to your body again. Shows how powerful of a reflection our bodies are if we but take notice and listen to them.

  102. What was ‘lived with’ according to the writer, seems like a very long list of very intense conditions, and yet, could this be the norm, and are people really suffering in a hithertofore unrecorded way.

  103. Lisa Rose,
To go from living depressed on medication to living gently and in honour of yourself and others is a miracle. One to be shown to the world. Thank you for sharing your experience, it is a true and loving inspiration to any one who is willing to look at themselves and to adjust and change what is not truly supporting. Creating everyday miracles in the everyday.

  104. It is amazing how Universal Medicine supports us to let go of what is not us thus leaving room for the expansion of our true selves and this ever unfolding process is beautiful to behold in ourselves and others.

  105. “It has been an amazing journey as all ‘the stuff’ that is not me begins to slowly fall away. The relationship I have with myself has slowly become more loving and gentle.” Beautiful to read Lisa. Clearing away who we are not makes way for our true self to shine.

  106. Your shopping list of conditions and medical issues is amazing Lisa. For you to clear all of that is quite miraculous. We really do underestimate our own power to heal.

  107. The difference between going to someone to get ‘fixed’ and going to someone for ‘support’ is huge. It’s the difference between responsibility and negligence. When we seek support, we know we need to contribute to our own healing and we have an understanding that our choices are what got us there in the first place. Seeking a fix throws responsibility out the window and dumps it on someone else to deal with, which ultimately is not sustainable.

  108. It is so wonderful to read about such a monumental shift in a person’s life… With so many old habits and patterns being dropped, and the opportunity to live life with celebration.

  109. Something I am always appreciative of with regards to Universal Medicine is that I never previously considered how many aches/pains/illnesses I put up with as just being an inevitable part of life.

  110. What’s so beautiful about what you have shared here Lisa is how letting go of “our stuff,” allows a beautiful space for a true commitment to healing and the honesty that we surrender to brings a confirmation of who we are to all and that is deeply appreciated. Thank you.

  111. “beliefs, ideals, habits – all of which get in the way of my truly expressing the love I am.” so true Lisa, when we let go of all that is not us we can feel the light of who we are. Universal Medicine offers the key to knowing the ‘what is not’ and the ‘what is’.

  112. Lisa, this is beautiful and thank you for sharing. The healing modalities that Universal Medicine offer are ones of truth and integrity – to let go of all those ideals and beliefs we might carry. It empowers our individual to step out of our hurts, see them, feel them but also heal them, as whatever we can let go, we are supported to let go of. As Universal Medicine has supported thousands of people, this is always about healing and integrity first. As we know we can continue in pain and comfort – but this is not our way out of misery.

  113. The healing modalities and presentations Universal Medicine present offer the opportunity of clarity as to what is really going on within ourselves

  114. Beautiful to read Lisa, and the realisations you have had about the body being the marker of truth and tuning into its healing powers, learning to be gentle and loving with your self has been life changing for you. Thank you for sharing.

  115. It is truly remarkable that you have discovered that you can heal yourself both emotionally and physically just from paying attention to how your body feels and honouring that… and from this commitment to yourself have transformed your life accordingly.

  116. This is such a brilliant and very practical blog about what Universal Medicine offers for everyday life, and what the positive health and wellbeing outcomes can be. Loving choices made in connection to the body are very powerful. Thank you Lisa.

  117. Your blog exposes how we get comfortable with life. thinking that the actual quality of every day is as it is and can never be any other way. Putting up with these energies does not change anything. Thank God for Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon who for the first time for many have shown that there is another way to truly heal and change the actual quality of our daily experiences to something very loving and very joy-full if it is so chosen.

    1. “I felt an enormous shift in my body, which made me realize that I could live in a ‘different way’ – one which listens to and honours my body. I could feel more space in my body and my thoughts were clearer, giving me a sense of well-being, physically and mentally.” Wow, now that feels like a life-changing workshop for you Lisa. I too have felt incredible shifts at the Universal Medicine Workshops – each and every time they have blown me away by addressing exactly what was needed to be looked at, exposed and cleared at the time of going there. I love what is presented, in a simple way for the audience to choose or not, a truly unimposing and supportive forum presenting a deeper, more self-loving life that then extends to how I am with everyone else. I feel the work of Universal Medicine is a true blessing for humanity on earth.

      1. Yes Irena there is no doubt about what Universal Medicine presents and the healing potential is huge

  118. Universal Medicine is without a doubt, the medicine we all need to release the shackles of all the past hurts and habits that we have picked up along the way that are keeping us from a true healthy way of living in the love we are meant to be.

    1. Beautifully expressed Adam. This is another way for me to explore how profoundly the quality of energy I live in can influence what I have to offer to humanity.

  119. The love and support from Universal Medicine is relentless, it will always be there supporting humanity on its return back to knowing what we are actually here for, and how we can heal, and how we can all draw on the ancient wisdom to support us in this return back to our own truth.

    1. They are not only complementing western medicine they reduce the reliance on western medicine

  120. Lisa I know exactly what you mean when you said you had a shift in your body, as I remember my first Esoteric Healing level two course and we were dealing with childhood hurts. And having attended many New Age Spiritual courses for ten years prior to attending the Universal Medicine presentations, this made everything I had ever done pale into insignificance. There were changes in my body of which I had never felt before; it’s as if a burden had been lifted. When I walked out of the hall I was not the same person who entered a couple of hours earlier, and I had the sense that something big had just happened to me, but couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

  121. Universal Medicine is truly revolutionary in that regard by supporting others to come back to their own tool kit for life – the body and it’s ability to feel. With this we can learn so much about our choices, their quality and the real world effects and outcomes this quality has. In a world that is getting more and more crazy and seeking outside rescue remedies, to know that our rock and steadiness comes from within is a complete world changer.

    1. I love what you’re saying here Leigh. Universal Medicine empowers people to be their own healer, offering support when needed and never maintains that it can be done for them. We each have to take responsibility for our own health and wellbeing by listening to the body’s messages.

  122. “Making the most loving choice in any given situation is something I am working on every day.” This is something I’m working on too Lisa including saying no to any thoughts that are unloving – it’s taking a little while but I can now recognise them much quicker when they try to enter and have finally realised that they have no hold over us unless we let them.

  123. My life has also been a journey, when I and stop look back on where I have been there were some scary choices made that make me ponder on how I am still here. I can’t remember ever really feeling anything on this journey other than the hurts and pains real and imagined. Joy, was only a girl’s name and love was something that was ever elusive (only because I forgot where I put my copy). Meeting Serge Benhayon and what he is presenting to the world is the way we can all be, the way we were all meant to be. This all starts with just feeling what our body is telling us again and not letting the thing between our ears decide for us.

  124. I felt that growing I up accumulated a bundle of ideals, beliefs and issues and that that bundle would just have got larger as time wore on. Thanks to Universal Medicine that bundle is constantly getting smaller and one day I can see it won’t exist anymore.

  125. Universal Medicine is just an absolutely amazing business that reignites the flame in everybody to choose love as the foundation of life. Such a beautiful sharing Lisa, thank you!

    1. Yes rachelandras it’s been ‘absolutely amazing’ to be involved with Universal Medicine and every aspect of my life has changed setting new foundations and connections to self and others. The choice to continue was never in question as Lisa said it all felt like I was just reconnecting to the part in me that I had been missing.

  126. “I can’t express enough that for me, the feeling in my body is my ‘marker of truth’.” That is for me absolute truth Lisa. With listening to my body and with feeling my body there is not a single doubt inside of me – only a deep knowing that what I had felt in my body is the truth.

  127. Beautiful Lisa, from all that I have learned at the Universal Medicine workshops and presentations I have attended I too am starting to ‘recognise where I need to support myself on a daily basis now so that I don’t collect more ‘stuff’’. This includes letting go of the please fix me mentality whenever I see any health practitioner with the full knowing that the way that I nurture and care for myself and live my everyday supports both any conventional medical and esoteric modality treatments I may have. This ultimately makes me far more responsible for the health of my own body.

  128. Such important subject you share with us Lisa. What came up for me was the fact that we tempt to have in the world the absoluteness of seeking for help/doctors once we are ill.. Yes having the urgency to feel into why and how we have come to that point is lacking. Interesting really, as I have lived this equally so. We seem to have had no thoughts or questions like: how are we choosing to life? Is this way of living causing us to become sick? Etc. etc. Just even to ponder on, it is interesting I had never thought of this before I attended the teachings of Serge Benhayon.

  129. Our body is a great reflection of how we have lived, and so important to care for everyday. It is amazing how developing self love can make life so much easier, there are often things to feel that aren’t that pretty, but when staying honest, this always brings healing.

  130. That we can choose to connect so deeply with our body that we can start to heal hurts and beliefs that seemed unassailable is a miracle that Universal Medicine presents daily to humanity

  131. It is incredible what changes we can make in our choices once we come back to living in our bodies and feeling and acting on what they are always showing us. It is important therefore to stop and uncover ‘the stuff’ we carry to stop this process. Thank you Lisa.

  132. ‘Medicine and surgery can all be a necessary part of healing, along with being aware of the choices we make on a daily basis.’ That third element – the choices we make on a daily basis – is often overlooked, denied or disregarded, with us outsourcing to medicine and surgery the role of fixing us for the choices we have previously made. Wellbeing comes with and from responsibility for our actions, thoughts and feelings and that responsibility is a key component of a healthy life, lived fully.

  133. Lisa, your story is a joy to read. An absolute testimony that how we live directly impacts our health. To connect to ourselves and take care and be gentle with the body which our divine essence resides in, is paramount. If we don’t, our bodies talk and lets us know what’s out of balance – I loved the simplicity of how you have shared how this beautiful science works. You feel indeed truly powerful.

  134. Another great testament to Universal Medicine, I have been working through stuff and pains in my body also, I still have a way a way to go yet but I am getting there. I have had pain in my left hip for years and years and the other day I had a session with a Universal Medicine practitioner and the pain has gone, I haven’t felt it since. At this stage I don’t know whether it has gone for good, that will depend on the way I choose to live, but so far connective tissue therapy and level five techniques that I received in that session are a miracle combination.

  135. Thank you for sharing Lisa your beautiful journey with Universal Medicine and the choices you made to truly heal.

  136. I loved reading how simple you’ve expressed the process of healing that can take place should we choose to be open to such. Our choices either take on more or let go of the stuff (hurts, habits, beliefs and ideals of ourselves, others the world) we have held onto for so long that we eventually believe that that which we hold onto is us when it’s not. The more we let go the more we feel who we are. Thank you Lisa.

  137. There’s so much in here but I particularly love when you expressed how your body felt after that one workshop and that you never wanted to return to the way you were feeling beforehand. Very powerful.

  138. Thank you Lisa for the sharing of your beautiful story. In it’s wisdom the body knows how to heal, we just need to connect and make loving choices day by day.

  139. So beautifully put Lisa, and how simple, practical and profound the Esoteric is. Thank you for sharing this.

  140. ‘By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically. This includes booking in for sessions with a practitioner or doctor from time to time, but I no longer go in with the desperation for them to ‘fix me’, but rather for their support.’
I love these two sentences they show us how much power we have. We can heal ourselves simply by paying attention to our bodies, listening more to what our bodies show us, take responsibility and abide to what we learn from them. We do not need long and clever books to tell us what to do because we live in a body that has all the wisdom we need. And in areas where we need help we can ask people for support.

  141. I too have found that an awareness of my body is vital for my emotional, physical, psychological and mental health and that how living in my head and with my focus solely on my thoughts has resulted in nothing but trouble from the eyebrows down, assumptions, misinterpretations and a lesser quality of life not only for myself but those around me. The more I feel my body and feel how my body responds to these mental directions the more I am understanding and getting first hand experience as to how wayward living in my head has been and equally how supportive, understanding and gentle living from my body can and is.

  142. The changes you have made in the way you live and how your body then feels are great, and all that after initially just one Universal Medicine workshop and the different choices you felt to make afterwards. Just goes to show that “the truth will set us free”.

  143. That’s a great testimony of how it is not about getting anywhere but more about getting rid of all the stuff we accumulated during our lives. From there healing is not a fixing to get back to a state we had before, but it is always about evolution, moving on and expanding the grandness we all are.

    1. I love what you are sharing here, Rachel. Part of my evolution is to be aware of what I may be taking on from other people as this is so damaging for my body. I am learning to love and honour my body and to be hyper aware of what is going in it!

    2. Beautifully said Rachel, illness is not something to be feared, but embraced as an opportunity to learn to live more of ourselves in the world and to deepen our ability to care for and honour ourselves in everything we do.

    3. Absolutely Rachelandras. Although it cuts across the common beliefs around how we get to feel better about ourselves etc, you have raised something so important here with your comment about not trying to reach a goal etc but about just learning to peel off the layers of rubbish we have taken on to discover that our grandness was right there all along. As we re-discover that sparkle the world and our possibilities just keep expanding.

      1. It puts the “feeling better” in a different context. Wellbeing is then not necessarily the absence of illness or any problems, but the quality of our beingness in our process of evolution. Our grandness never goes no matter what we have to face to peel off the layers of the what is not and express fully from our Soul.

    4. Beautifully said Rachelandras. All of the choices we make in our lives do indeed accumulate. Even though it can sometimes feel like a never ending process as you address this accumulation, the more you let go of and clear that backlog, the less your yesterdays weigh heavy on you and the lighter you start to feel. With this lightness you then have more space to reconnect to and appreciate your qualities and as you say Rachel, ‘expand the grandness that we all are’.

    5. Beautiful rachelandras, understanding that it is ‘stuff’ we take on, not who we truly are, allows the understanding and the choice of whether we do take stuff on or rather observe, feel, and learn from what is being presented.. this is where true healing is possible. Knowing that the stuff is not me but rather something to be released and discarded makes it ever easier to step forward and learn to let go of that which hinders and obstructs, and allows the freedom of the truth to be felt and lived.

      1. Absolutely and this is so with illness and disease, but also with behaviors, moods, emotions, etc. It’s the energy we let rule us and then we take ownership of something that is not true, believing that this is who we are. The identification with the what is not is the dis-ease. This is also super important with kids and misbehavior. They are not that behavior they choose to take it on.

  144. We take on so much ‘stuff’ in our lives that it leaves us heavy, tired and down. Sometimes it’s own own stuff and sometimes it’s other peoples. Living in a way that brings us back to who we truly are, is something that I have learnt through Universal Medicine, it is very freeing and brings a sparkle to life.

    1. For me it makes my life truly worth living. To be able to get such a clearer understanding of what it’s all about has been so empowering and so exposing, all at once, but an absolute blessing in every sense.

  145. “The feeling in my body is my marker of truth”; this is a great reminder for us all to listen tenderly to our bodies.
What a transformation you have made Lisa Rose, a very inspirational story, thank you for sharing your experiences and wisdom.

  146. This is a great sharing Lisa and awesome to read how you have let go of ‘stuff’ that wasn’t you. I agree that after attending a Universal Medicine event we are given a new marker in our bodies to begin a new foundation with and recognising all the parts that just aren’t us is truly liberating.
“By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically.” This is what helps me too; being aware more closely of my body that is always lovingly communicating with me.

  147. Universal Medicine presentations and healing modalities have certainly helped me in a lot of different areas of my life. From my general health and wellbeing to the way I communicate and relate to others.

  148. Hi Lisa, I can really feel how honest you are and willing to listen to everything your body presents you with. How simple it is to truly look after ourselves when we are willing to take the reins and allow support from others on this journey. Thank you for sharing.

  149. Just like you Lisa I wanted health practitioners and conventional medicine to fix me. To fix all my physical ailments and the sense of disharmony I felt with the push and exhaustion that challenges us with modern day life. But those ailments didn’t just happen over night, they all had accumulated due to my ongoing choices that fed them over time until I ended up with a myriad of symptoms that is taking time to sort out. This has proven to be a process that is rather like putting the pieces of a jigsaw of me back together. These different pieces come from the different realizations, experiences and treatments I receive from my doctors, the esoteric practitioners who totally complement and support the conventional medicine I am receiving, to the choices I make and the experiences I learn from in my everyday life. In truth, this is all my responsibility to coordinate and I need commit to live in a way that allows the correct practitioner to support me at the correct time with the exact treatment that my body needs at that time for me to evolve and heal.

  150. I can so relate to what you are sharing Lisa. Every workshop, course or presentation presented by Serge Benhayon completely changes how I feel in my body. At first it wasn’t so obvious, but the more I clear, the more I feel the shifts that occur. Every workshop feels like the rubbish has been taken out and I am left to feel me. From there I have to choose to keep the rubbish out, otherwise return it will as the choices I make will either invite it all back in or keep it out.

    1. This is great for me to read, Vicky, as it is so true that the choices we make after attending a workshop are the ones which either ensure we evolve or go back to our comfortable way of being. Each workshop offers us this choice -I know what I want to choose!

  151. Beautifully expressed Lisa – true and lasting change is a rare thing but what you have shared and your experience with Universal Medicine is an awesome testament that it is possible.

  152. It is interesting what we see as normal, especially when it comes to our body and our health – Universal Medicine has shown me and my family that we do not have to just accept life to be a certain way and that things can change.

  153. What Universal Medicine offers is unparalleled. It brings Heaven through healing modalities and techniques that are life changing. I have spent countless years in the education system from kindergarten to doctoral studies. With that authority, I can state clearly that I have known the real meaning and practice of true education through Universal Medicine. I have learned more during these years than during my life altogether.

  154. Lisa when I read your list of what you were living with, I realised they were things that most of us accept as being part of life. Ailments that we almost expect to get along the way without really stopping and asking what is going on here, why am I getting all these problems. With the support of Universal Medicine and by listening to your body you were willing to go deeper and your blog is a great reminder that our body is a marker of truth.

  155. Thank you Lisa for a reminder of how listening to presentations by Serge Benhayon and attending workshops and courses with Universal Medicine how much more powerful, positive, beautiful, loving and understanding I am of myself, others and the world around me. Life changing with true love and fun a part of me.

  156. Wow – how powerful is this ‘marker’ you mention Lisa. This living record of how tender we can feel means its just up to us to observe what makes this change. If we honestly honour whatever that might be, this tenderness becomes our greatest ally.

  157. As Lisa so eloquently writes, ‘thing’s’ just start to fall away, and Lisa had no small list of ‘things’. And this is the inherent beauty in Universal Medicine presentations. That’s it , they simply present an option that we are free or not to take. True service in its best form.

  158. Before Universal Medicine I used to look at my practitioners as experts and as people who knew more than me. After meeting and studying together with Serge Benhayon I look at myself as the expert, as knowing all, and the practitioner supports me to connect to that wisdom.

    1. Oh yes Felix I can relate to that because I did the same as you did before I met Serge Benhayon. It is good to be an expert too because it gave me the freedom to stay with me and to let the practitioner be my true support to get deeper in my inner knowing.

  159. Lisa Rose, I love how you simply describe the powerful changes that can occur when we listen to and honour our bodies. I have also been deeply inspired by the presentations of Universal Medicine.

  160. Coming back to your blog again today Lisa was a timely reminder of how my much my life has changed since the first time I attended a presentation by Serge Benhayon; that was the day I realised that the way I was living was not set in concrete and: “that I could live in a ‘different way’”. It has taken a few years to cast aside those many behaviours that were harming my body, and to introduce a more gentle and caring way to look after me, and although there were times that it was very challenging, I have never thought, even for one moment, that I would return to the old and disregarding way that I was living. And as a result, now at 65, I feel the most alive I have ever felt and the body that I used to ignore is now listened to and cherished.

  161. The marriage of presentations by Universal Medicine and our own dedication and devotion to ourselves brings incredible healing and life changes. I witness this time and time again. Thank you Lisa Rose for your story here.

  162. Lisa I get so much more from your blog the second time around . Your experience is a great example of what Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine present and how much we can learn by opening up to receive their blessings of healing and joyful example of how life can be!

  163. I am able to allow myself to be more of who I am, and now I have a lot more support to offer others instead of feeling weighed down with problems of my own. I recognise this, I also feel that the support I can now offer others comes with a quality that was not present before I attended Universal Medicine courses, and that quality is; Love.

  164. Thank you Lisa Rose, I absolutely understand how a body responds with such positive outcomes by simply following the sharings about true love and self nurturing as presented in the inspirational workshops and courses by Serge Benhayon.

  165. Yes I agree Lisa, by attending Universal Medicine presentations and workshops and being open to what is presented is absolutely life changing on many levels.

  166. Lisa awesome sharing of the incredible life changing impacts of Universal Medicine in people’s lives.

  167. Lisa your dedication to your health and well-being is inspiring. How you have transformed your life by taking home the lessons from the workshops shows how powerful the Universal Medicine modalities truly are. Like you I have benefited so much from these healing sessions. I never realised how letting go of old patterns of thinking and behaviour could be so empowering.

  168. So awesome Lisa! Hearing how people have chosen paths to come back to themselves is just inspiring. Your life now feels so fresh and light.

  169. It is worth to pause for a moment and really appreciate your testimonial, Lisa. First of all: you have put into practice with dedication and love what was presented to you during the Universal Medicine workshops. On a more general matter: Just 2-3 days per year of being with Serge Benhayon have the potential to give momentum to such awesome changes in ones life. I am one of the thousands who has met Serge and experiences the same fabulous health.

  170. It is amazing how much you were are able to change by listening to your body Lisa. To only have attended one workshop a year and feel so many changes is an amazing testimony to the Universal Medicine workshops and how healing they are.

  171. So much unfolds when we listen to our body and take care of ourselves. Everything, as you describe Lisa, becomes lighter and easier. I have fun observing myself becoming more open and having lovely encounters with students and staff everyday in my work.

  172. It’s beautiful to read how caring for ourselves changes life completely.

  173. It is so beautiful to read how our body really does respond when we are able to listen and make a loving choice that is honouring to the body, and it really is the marker of truth. Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your experience. Reading your blog has given me an opportunity to be more honest with how this has been for me lately, and I recognize something has become more of a habit, rather than a choice responding to what the moment is calling for.

  174. How we choose to live everyday, in each and every moment cannot be ignored – it can be the underlying cause of all our illness and disease, or the underlying cause of our health and vitality. Thank you for sharing the choices you have made since attending Universal Medicine courses and how it has changed your life.

  175. Lisa your awareness for self and how you support you with love and honesty inspires me greatly. “I can recognise where I need to support myself on a daily basis now so that I don’t collect more ‘stuff’ – knowing that it doesn’t serve me or anyone I come into contact with.” Thank you so much.

  176. I can relate to what you are saying Lisa: “After completing the workshop I felt an enormous shift in my body, which made me realise that I could live in a ‘different way’ – one which listens to and honours my body.” I remember this feeling myself when I attended my first workshop from Universal Medicine. The deep love that was offered at the workshops has been life changing for me too!

  177. I love how you have seen all the issues in your life as just ‘stuff’ that is not you – such a refreshing way of looking at our ‘stuff’ that doesn’t allow us to identify with it and get bogged down by it.

  178. You have offered such simple and practical advice, coming from your own experience on how to keep looking after yourself. To keep feeling your body during the day is key. If it doesn’t feel great when you wake up to track back and feel where the shift occurred.

  179. The result of what happens when we take responsibility for ourselves. Thank you Lisa!

  180. I really enjoyed reading your very simple, practical blog Lisa, what you have written shows the absolute simplicity and common sense of the Universal Medicine courses and workshops, ‘I felt an enormous shift in my body, which made me realise that I could live in a ‘different way’ – one which listens to and honours my body’, beautiful!

  181. I only can joyfully confirm your experience with Universal Medicine. My life has changed so much by connecting back to me and letting go of the ideals and beliefs I had built my life around. This is an ongoing process just as is the support and love of Universal Medicine.

  182. LIsa, it is truly amazing how much you were able to connect with you and let go of so much ‘stuff’ from attending one Universal Medicine event. And then to repeat the experience on a yearly basis! Your account is a true testament to the power and grace offered by these workshops and also via the healing modalities presented by Universal Medicine. Thank you for sharing the inspiration and healing you experienced.

  183. I loved connecting with you and your return to feeling who you truly are – so beautiful, thank you for sharing Lisa. ‘Making the most loving choice in any given situation is something I am working on every day.’ – I too work on this every day and I love having the opportunity to deepen my awareness and relationship with this honouring daily.

  184. I am so glad that I found my way to your blog this morning Lisa, as it was a timely and loving reminder of have far I have come in the last 10 years since I first attended a presentation by Serge Benhayon. Like you, from that first presentation I knew that I could never go back to how I had been living, or more accurately, existing, for so long. I listen to my body now, and though at times I don’t like what it is telling me, I no longer ignore the message but pay it the full attention it deserves.

    1. Great point you make here Ingrid, once we have felt living another way a way that is more loving and true there is no turning back. Universal Medicine is something that can be lived each day and in each moment, the core of Universal Medicine being love.

      1. I agree Donna. There is no turning back. This would be what I could only describe as self-abuse.

  185. Hi Lisa, yes I totally agree the western medicine and esoteric go hand in hand. When I had frozen shoulders it was the marriage of the two which helped me to clear the pain and restriction, as well as the underlying issue which caused them in the first place. Great blog.

  186. Lisa as I read your amazing blog, the words – this is a living miracle – are coming up. So you are for me a living miracle what healthiness really mean.

  187. What an absolutely awesome change you have indeed made Lisa. Thank you for sharing.

  188. Another amazing testimony of the true healing that can occur when you are truly honest and seek to let go of things that clearly aren’t working in your life. Thank you Lisa.

  189. Lisa I just loved reading your blog and feeling the gentleness that you treat yourself with. I have been much more aware of the need to truly feel what is going on in my body and realising that the reason for the discomfort or pain I am feeling is my disregard and the need for me to truly listen and connect to me with love.

  190. This really highlighted how much of an all-rounder universal medicine is…Instead of seeing them for one thing (like the physio for your neck and back problem), they have helped with all things you are/were living with. That’s just incredible and there’s nothing like it.

  191. “By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically”.
These words are so powerful Lisa Rose, thank you for sharing your very beautiful and inspirational story.

  192. “By paying attention to how my body feels throughout the day I have found that I can truly heal myself emotionally and physically. This includes booking in for sessions with a practitioner or doctor from time to time, but I no longer go in with the desperation for them to ‘fix me’, but rather for their support.” How self empowering it is to listen to our own body and how it reveals our choices. It is great to read Lisa how you have been able with the support of Universal Medicine and feeling the responsibility for yourself to make life about love.

  193. Like you Lisa, I have also found Western Medicine and Esoteric Medicine are a fantastic combination which provided me the opportunity to see that I had a part to play in my recovery which resulted in true healing rather than just getting myself fixed.

    1. So true jacmcfadden04, healing can only truly occur if we are willing to accept and take responsibility for the part we have played in its creation.

      1. Sometimes quick fixes can literally be a bandaid for a tumour. As you share Victoria we all can play a role in the creation of the ill health and issues in our lives so it makes absolute sense that we not only accept the responsibility for this fact, but we also realise that we ourselves are a living science as is how we live our everyday.

  194. Again a simple vignette of someone’s life, so much revealed in a paragraph, from depression to pain, and yet again a microcosm of the world as it really is. Underneath the glitz and glamour and latest technology there is simply desperation on a mass scale, and it seems that nothing stops the momentum until there is a forced stop, in whatever form is necessary. Universal medicine offers an alternative to this crash stop, an incredible alternative that reconnects us to our simple profound and divine truth, and from this , true healing, as Lisa Rose experienced, is possible.

    1. Beautifully expressed cjames2012. I totally agree, that what Universal Medicine offers us as an alternative from the big, and usually painful, episodes that stop us in our tracks, is potentially life changing. We do have a choice to change the way we live, and it is actually quite simple; it begins with learning to listen to what our body is trying to tell us, for it speaks nothing but the truth.

  195. Thank Lisa for sharing your experience of attending Universal Medicine workshops and listening to presentations by Serge Benhayon. Your clear commitment to learning to live in harmony with your body helps to reignite my own commitment and blow away lingering self doubt.

  196. I really enjoyed reading about your experiences which many people including myself can relate to. It is yet another example of how what Serge Benhayon shares ‘life is medicine’ is not just a great phrase but actually is true in every aspect. I have come to learn that I am not a victim of circumstances and my body but that I actually have the power and ability to determine my wellbeing, health and vitality through my every day choices.

  197. What you are sharing here is that by taking responsibility for how you’re feeling, you are able to reflect on how you have been and are willing to apply loving changes to support healing not only your physical body but also your emotional state of being.

  198. Lisa, that was certainly a list! What a remarkable turnaround in your well being.

  199. Very simple and very powerful Lisa, listening to our bodies is the greatest thing we can do for ourselves and so very easy when we allow it!

  200. What’s great about this blog Lisa is that you are re-defining what well-ness is. Often we define being well as when we don’t have any major symptoms or illnesses. But what you are saying here is that there are markers in our body that can tell us how well we are that come way before we get a serious condition.

  201. Making choices that are in harmony with the body and its wisdom, is simply the only way to be. I could not for a second return to the way I used to live. It didn’t represent a true or authentic way of being. Thanks Lisa for contributing your story that confirms more and more that Universal medicine is the way forward.

  202. Thank you Lisa. “The opportunity to stay present” So true, and through self care this feeling of presence remains and provides a feedback of joy to confirm the loving ways we now live.

  203. This is a super post Lisa, I too agree that the feeling I have in my body today and the spaciousness I feel of this, is worth absolutely everything and is price-less. For years I suffered notably from severe and excruciating neck pain, living a life that was with great career success, but without order or any real honouring of the body. Your words here “I could feel more space in my body and my thoughts were clearer…” – am totally with you, moving the body with and in gentleness and seeing how the thoughts then change, is the game-changer. Move the body, move the thoughts.

  204. Beautiful blog Lisa, Esoteric Practitioners have given me markers also. I love these markers, they help me feel where I can be living at on a daily basis. Support is exactly what I receive, support in re learning that everyday I’m amazing in all I do.

  205. “I have since attended about one workshop per year and each time felt the opportunity to let go of more and more ‘stuff’ that is not actually me: beliefs, ideals, habits – all of which get in the way of my truly expressing the love I am” – this is so true and definitely been my personal experience also. There is always more to learn, feel and know, to go deeper, hence why I love what is presented that we are ‘forever students’.

  206. I enjoyed reading your inspiring article and how we can live in a different way simply by choice.

  207. Lisa you have clearly taken your own healing into your hands. Learning to listen to our body and developing a connection with it in each moment, then making choices based on what our body shares with us is paramount for our own healing and evolution. And as you say, this doesn’t mean we rule out Western Medicine, sometimes what is felt is needed is the support of what Western Medicine has to offer. The Esoteric Healing modalities and Western Medicine are a beautiful union for truly healing.

  208. This is an awesome piece of writing Lisa, thank you for so beautifully sharing your life changes since attending a Universal Medicine workshop.
I remember not ever wanting to feel the way I used to before Universal Medicine too but the self loving choices are always there to be made with the reflection always shown by the body.

  209. Thanks for sharing Lisa and the great description of your experience. You write: “I could feel more space in my body and my thoughts were clearer”. I love the feeling of having more space in my body and being more clear which is my experience too since I have attended Universal Medicine events.

  210. Your blog sums it up beautifully Lisa. The linking between, connection, presence and listening to what our body tells us to then act upon is the basis of what universal medicine truly means.

  211. Truly lovely to read your story. I love how simply you have shared everything and the the honest way you listed where you were at before Universal Medicine. It’s a such gift to be given insight into the deep, personal recesses of people’s lives. I have learned so much from your blog, and been deeply inspired, thankyou Lisa.

  212. Lisa I have experienced much of the same when it comes to Universal Medicine. I’m loving life and myself more and more each day because of it.

  213. Lisa I agree whole heartedly with you. Universal Medicine teaches us how to put the ‘us’ back into ourselves. Who were we being before if we weren’t being ourselves ? I get a sense of myself being a vessel with little in it and yet I would have sworn blind that I was full of me. That version of me was not the real me, it was an imposter, that I now know for sure.

  214. An inspiring article Lisa. It shows what can happen when we take responsibility for our choices by re-connecting to our true self and listening to what our body is telling us.

  215. My head used to be insanely busy, the clarity that I also felt after a Universal Medicne workshop I thought was never possible not in a million years

  216. I love about your blog how you bring it back to your own made choices and responsibility. Everyday is a build up for the next day- I like how you describe your check in, what happened the day before, if you feel out of sorts and then come back to being gentle and caring.

  217. Great to read of your “awesome” changes Lisa through your ” listening and honouring your body ” .
It is a reminder to me to pace and support myself as well as appreciatively receiving support from friends and Universal Medicine.

  218. Lisa, I found your blog a real blessing, especially your words ‘I see every day, and what it presents to me, as an opportunity to practise staying present, allowing myself to feel and learn from my body.’. Thank you.

  219. Thankyou Lisa for sharing your inspirational story , I love your simple way you have gone about change and just accepting your body as the marker of truth.

  220. The changes you are describing are a testimony to some wise choices you have made; I have also found that connecting and listening to my body has made a world of difference to my health and overall wellbeing.

  221. I love the fact that our bodies are the marker of truth. We cannot argue with how our bodies feel although we can distract ourselves from this awareness. And then we have the choice to become more gentle and tender with ourselves and feel the aches and pains resolve themselves. Your story is amazing Lisa.

  222. I loved reading your blog Lisa and was inspired by your honesty and wisdom; thank you
“I can’t express enough that for me, the feeling in my body is my ‘marker of truth”
I particularly resonated with these words Lisa; it is a timely reminder for me to keep listening, in every moment, to my own body.
    .

  223. Awesome blog Lisa. Great reminder for me to practice conscious present, self-love, self-care and self nurture everyday and to live in harmony. Thank you

  224. You are living document of what it means to come back to oneself, letting go of what we have identified with and listening to the truth and love from inside. And it is a reflection of what Universal Medicine stands for – not a cult to manipulate its followers, but as a role model and inspiration to empower oneself taking responsibility into one´s own hands and being one´s own authority.

  225. Reading about your experience and reflecting on my own and others experiences, it is so obvious that Serge Benhayon, Universal Medicine and it’s courses offer so much more than anything I have ever come across. I have felt what has been offered is a true opportunity to live a life where we are truly responsible for our choices, where we can daily inspire, evolve and serve humanity through the way we live. How amazing is that, and it is in each and every one of us!

  226. It is lovely to read of the transformation you have chosen to create in you life with the love and wisdom offered via the support you received from Universal Medicine. What is even more gorgeous is that through this you can now offer support to others that so desperately need it since you no longer feel weighed down with problems of your own.

  227. Thank you for your honest sharing Lisa. What struck me in your blog is where you write that “I don’t collect more ‘stuff’”. This is the gold we have in our hands when we start to become more caring for ourselves and discarding the old that does not serve us anymore. By doing so we also stop building more of our issues with life. How great is that! Living a life where we take care for ourselves first is true medicine, we have to rise from our own misery and take control of our own health and wellbeing.

  228. Thank you for sharing your story Lisa. It is really inspirational to hear about the way Universal Medicine inspired such significant and positive changes in your life. These stories need to be appreciated, shared and celebrated. We cannot hold back from letting the world know how simple it is to truly heal.

  229. Lisa, I can totally relate to what you say here – “After completing the workshop I felt an enormous shift in my body, which made me realise that I could live in a ‘different way’ – one which listens to and honours my body. I could feel more space in my body and my thoughts were clearer, giving me a sense of well-being, physically and mentally. It was as if all the things that were weighing me down day to day had been removed and I could enjoy being more of me, rather than the heaviness of life’s experiences, etc. tainting my thoughts and physical being.” It’s so great to feel the clarity rather than the fog.

  230. Wow, that’s a huge turn around in your life and from adopting what could be considered simple techniques. I know it’s hard work sometimes stepping back through all our choices, but once we have the tools to connect back to ourselves and a desire to truly listen to and understand our body, everything changes. Well done Lisa and thank you for sharing.

  231. Great article Lisa – it shows how you allowed yourself to feel within you how you have, and continue to benefit from the work of Universal Medicine. I also feel your article illustrates another lived example of the true power of connecting with and claiming the deep natural rhythm of our bodies…Thank you for sharing…

  232. Great to read about the impact and changes that Universal Medicine has had on your health and therefore life and wellbeing. My experience is very similar as it is for many others which is a testimony to what is presented by Serge Benhayon. These presentations makes so much sense of life and the world we live in that when we take responsibility for our choices in our day to day living and understand this is the true medicine we naturally see changes happening. Thank you Lisa 🙂

  233. A great and compelling example of the all-encompassing nature of our shared universal medicine, of our choices, our presence and our connection to the All.

  234. Lisa your story is very inspiring. Isn’t great when we discover the wisdom of our own body and learn to listen to it. This has unfolded for me too over the last 7 years and the changes as a result of putting into practice what Serge Benhayon has presented have been amazing. My body was weighed down by emotions and beliefs, leading to niggling back and digestive issues. Now I feel lighter, more confident, and each day I enjoy being me in my body. I loved how at the end you talked about not looking for doctors to ‘fix you’ but rather support your healing as needed. It feels to me that one of the key things humanity needs to come to understand is the difference between a cure and healing, and that healing is an ongoing process of self-responsibility, self-care and self-love.

  235. I can relate to this experience in so so many ways. A great reminder that through the body we can live a life that goes against the struggling life we have accepted over the years.

  236. I really enjoyed reading this article. It shows the wisdom in the words of Serge Benhayon when he says ‘The way we live is the best medicine’.

  237. Lovely to read your journey of turning your life and your health around Lisa and how clearly listening to your body has been your guide. I too have found that listening to my body has brought about great change and with the support of Universal Medicine the stuff that is not me is falling away. My body is such a powerful indicator of how I live.

  238. It is great to read your story Lisa and I feel that it echoes others who have made choices to change their lifestyles, including myself. It does confirm how the body will always show you if the choices you make are loving and true or not. Nobody can cheat their bodies because it is always so honest, even though our minds are not! Having a greater connection with my body has completely changed my life.

  239. Thank you for sharing the benefits you have experienced since attending Universal Medicine presentations, all of which I can relate to. I can now see clearly how my past choices had led me into ill health and low vitality and that we do not need to suffer through life.

  240. I can remember after my first Universal Medicine courses how much clearer my thoughts were and how much more easily I would remember people’s names. The fogginess of my thinking had been replaced by a clarity and an ease with myself. It was a new marker of a way that I knew I could and should be living in and from. Thanks for sharing Lisa.

  241. Top blog Lisa. Having that marker of truth in our bodies is an amazing ‘tool’ to have. Once something is felt in the body it can’t be unfelt. We could probably get away with lying to most people but we can never lie to ourselves. However much we may deny, hide or pretend it didn’t happen, that feeling was felt and now, anything less than that is abuse.

  242. A gorgeous experience shared. True healing through the support of Universal Medicine, importantly made because you have chosen to care for yourself and be connected to how your body feels. I have had a similar experience over the last few years, it is deeply empowering and I do feel so much lighter now.

  243. Before coming across Universal Medicine I did not appreciate how amazing the human body is. It is the first to respond with every choice we make and it is a highly forgiving laboratory. Saying that, it never allows you to ‘get away’ with making the choices that will ultimately hurt it in some way and in this sense it is the greatest teacher of living with responsibility.

  244. What an empowering statement and reflection of the changes you have made when you write, “I no longer go in with the desperation for them (practitioners and doctors) to ‘fix me’, but rather for their support.”

  245. Thank you Lisa Rose for sharing the changes in your life and it really is huge when you look at the list of things that you had before you met Serge Benhayon.
I too was in a bad way with my emotional outbursts, living with zero energy as I was totally and utterly exhausted doing 3 jobs. I was always having to go to the GP for some ailment, infection or something that was not right.
It feels great to say I have not been bugging my GP in any way since 2008 and this is a miracle in itself. This stuff that Serge Benhayon presents makes sense and is another way to live. You choose – in your own time to let go of what harms you and bring in a new way that supports you and is super simple.
I stuck with it because it was simple and my body loved the new choices and I felt them deeply so it was easy.
I cannot imagine going back to my old way of living.

  246. This blog is very insightful, I agree that listening to my body and learning to be present with it moment to moment changes everything, the body is so honest, if we make a bad choice – it let’s us know – when we really listen it has so much to tell us.

  247. Thank you Lisa for simply and clearly expressing your experiences with Universal Medicine and the changes you have made. This is a great summary of what happens when we change our outlook on life and start to to take responsibility for our own health and wellbeing.

  248. This article is very informative, an article I will be sharing with my family and extended family. Thank you Lisa for sharing your experience.

  249. I love how you wrote: ‘the feeling in my body is my ‘marker of truth’.
My body is so honest and it keeps giving me signals and communicates all day long. All I have to do is listen and allow myself to be aware of what my body is telling me and act upon that. Simply choices and the way we live are the best medicine in the world.

  250. ” I could live in a ‘different way’ – one which listens to and honours my body. I could feel more space in my body and my thoughts were clearer, giving me a sense of well-being, physically and mentally”. I love this Lisa. Listening and then acting on what my body is telling me has made a huge difference to my life too. Being more self-responsible, rather than looking outside for a quick fix.

    1. I agree, when we start to pay attention to our body and the little pains, or bloating or tiredness, there is a much greater sense of self responsibility and an awareness that this body is for us to look after, not just the doctor or dentist or any medical professional.

  251. Reading this feels like a lightbulb has gone off above my head. Universal Medicine has always presented that we need to save ourselves, all they do is support the removal of the excess weights. A pattern I have gone into is allowing my emotional states to get on top of me, but in those moments where I feel light enough to identify that I am emotional that is my chance to respond and say no to the emotion or let it continue to advance and sit on top of me.

    1. I agree Leigh, Universal Medicine has established a different relationship with medicine than the status quo. A relationship which has at its core, personal responsibility for our own daily choices in life as a basis for true health. Imagine if we were all more responsible for our own health rather than just living however we liked and then taking the inevitable crisis to the medical professional and putting pressure on them to fix it or take it away?

  252. “now I have a lot more support to offer others instead of feeling weighed down with problems of my own” This comment is so true, I used to be so focused on me and my own problems that I never truly considered others. Or, I was so busy ‘doing’ for others that I never stopped to appreciate me.

  253. There really is no better way for us to look after our bodies than to listen to the signals that come from the body. I have found that esoteric medicine it is the perfect compliment to western medicine, supporting and healing the body through how I live, not relying solely on western medicine to fix any ails.

  254. I really enjoy reading your story Lisa. It’s very real and down to earth and just confirms how true Love and support can help another to transform their lives. This is what Universal Medicine offers.

  255. This is really valuable what you have shared “whenever I feel my body is sore or tight or there is a pain or stress developing, I now know it means I need to check back in with how I was living the day before. With that reference I can then bring myself back to being caring and gentle with myself”. This is so empowering, really simple, it blows blaming others and being a victim out of the water and shows me the importance of taking responsibility for me.

    1. I agree Vicky, taking responsibility for ourselves is very empowering. As Lisa says, by listening to what our bodies are telling us we can be our own healers and by taking some simple, basic steps to take care of ourselves, will have the advantage of radically lessening the burden on our already stretched NHS.

  256. I agree Lisa. If I am totally honest my body has never lied to me. It always tells me what is really going on even if my mind re-interprets what is happening and puts a certain ‘spin’ on it. Whenever I have trusted and listened to my body my life has definitely improved. The body has infinite wisdom which we are only just beginning to understand and appreciate.

  257. Great blog, Lisa, thank you. It is amazing the simplicity life can become when we let all the ‘stuff’ we carry drop away. What you have shared is inspirational that this is possible and I find when this clarity is there it is easy to see the ‘not me’ parts and be open to support rather than having to fix a problem.

  258. This is a very important article and one that shows us the importance of choosing true healing and what we are able to do when this arises. It is simple to see the importance of this type of healing once it has taken shape but when you are living in a way that stops you from seeing the healing you need is the more tricky part that many of us get caught in. Being open to true healing and being deeply honest about how we are living is super important for us all.

  259. Lisa, this is such a lovely blog (I came back for more!) and it’s amazing how you now approach you and your life has changed profoundly. It’s great how simple choices and changes can make such a difference, and I love how you now approach medicine, either western medicine or esoteric medicine, as a support and not a fix. This is something I’ve learned too and it really does make a huge difference, I’m now more open to how I can be supported and I allow this support instead of pushing it away, which is a huge change for me. Your blog reminded me!

  260. Thank you for sharing your experience Lisa. You’ve taken a very mature and responsible approach to your healing, instead of wanting someone to take away any pain for you. This is what Universal Medicine inspires – that we are our own healers with one of the keys being to take responsibility for how we choose to live our lives. The support received from Universal Medicine practitioners and Serge Benhayon is unending.

  261. I love your steady approach to healing and the way you look for support from your sessions instead of going to be ‘fixed.’ Great blog, thank you.

  262. “After completing the workshop I felt an enormous shift in my body, which made me realise that I could live in a ‘different way’ – one which listens to and honours my body”. Absolutely awesome when we realise that our bodies are always talking to us and that by simply listening we can bring about such a huge change. Thank you for sharing Lisa.

  263. Lisa, your article highlights significant points, not least how self care has affected your visits to health care practitioners ‘I no longer go in with the desperation for them to ‘fix me’, but rather for their support’…very inspiring, thank you

  264. Thanks for sharing Lisa, having that ‘marker of truth’ in our bodies is a marvellous thing as we know immediately when something is not quite right and so we can look back on our day or the previous day to see where we weren’t as loving or as gentle as we could have been.

    1. I agree Tim, re-reading this blog has really made me consider whether I listen to my body and what it is teaching me as much as I could, and why I do not always return to this wisdom first, rather than looking elsewhere.

  265. Hi Lisa, having read this for the second time I can really feel how you connect to your body and use that as a marker. This really comes across in your writing, which feels very inspiring. Thank you.

  266. Beautiful to read how simple it can be, and that you can do it for yourself. Universal Medicine is not somewhere to go for relief or to heal you, but somewhere that is there always supporting you in your livingness.

  267. Hi Lisa I really recognise Universal Medicine’s invitation to leave ‘the heaviness of life’s experiences’ behind, together with the support not to criticise myself for past decisions, just to move on closer to the love that I am increasingly realising I am

  268. A great blog Lisa. Before attending presentations by Serge Benhayon I too visited the surgery expecting the doctor to ‘fix’ me. Learning to take responsibility for my own body and the choices I make is very liberating. I now know that I have a large part to play in my own healing with the support of doctors and health professionals.

  269. Dear Lisa, I loved reading your blog. It is inspiring to read how much you value your relationship with your body and what you have learned from it. I also appreciate your comment about being more present and available to others because you are less weighed down in your own ‘stuff’. Thank you for sharing the joy you now feel about life and in yourself.

  270. Thanks for sharing your journey with us Lisa, clearly the support of Universal Medicine presentations from Serge Benhayon and the practitioners have all played their part. However it is clear to see you have made loving choices to change your way of living based on recognising the truth in what has been presented to you. Awesome.

  271. Hi Lisa, I love how you describe simple choices to have completely turned your life around. Sometimes I have found it hard to believe that such simple choices can make such a profound difference, but you are absolutely correct the choices we make everyday is what establishes the quality of our life. Also it’s great to really appreciate the profound effect Universal Medicine presentations have had, I know for me too, they have completely changed my life.

  272. It was great to start my day with this uplifting blog. Sometimes I can take for granted all that has been offered to me by Universal Medicine presentations over the years, and forget just how life changing it has been. This sunny blog swept that slight fogginess away, and brought me to a renewed commitment to staying with my body today.

  273. Hi Lisa, this is a great account of how your choices have changed your life and the pain in your body. The Universal Medicine practitioners have also helped me and my immediate family, with support to make those changes for ourselves. It is amazing how making self loving choices can make huge changes in our lives.

  274. I love how simply and clearly you write about the power of the choices you’ve made to self love and self honour you and how this has changed your life, beautifully inspiring.

  275. Thank you Lisa I could really relate to your comment ‘It was as if all the things that were weighing me down day to day had been removed and I could enjoy being more of me, rather than the heaviness of life’s experiences, etc. tainting my thoughts and physical being.’ For me this is an ongoing journey in which I now feel supported whilst taking responsibility for my own wellbeing.

  276. I agree, the feeling of well being, and listening to what my body is telling me, constantly brings me to new levels of awareness. I am 70 now (what a great year to be in) and I love my body and the developing relationship I have with it. Thank you Universal Medicine and its amazing student body.

  277. Thanks Lisa, such a simple shift but so profound, to listen to and honour your body. I have made the same change and am reaping the benefits, so much has changed in terms of how I feel. I agree, I feel better now in my forties than I did in my twenties and the increase in well being is ongoing.

  278. It still amazes me how many lives Uni Med has deeply touched, we are all people from different backgrounds yet no-one receives any more or less support than the next person, whether they be a local resident or live overseas, this is something to be appreciated by humanity as a whole, what we have with UniMed is very special.

    1. So very true Toni, everyone is supported no matter where in the world they are. It truly is amazing and yes Universal Medicine and those involved in it are special but also normal – that’s the thing, a true level of care such as they provide is normal, but our societies have not been living that for a while. That will change and organisations such as Universal Medicine are at the vanguard of that.

    2. Well said Toni, yes the support we have all got is phenomenal, what Serge and Universay Medicine provide is just awesome, never seen anything like it.

  279. Hi Lisa your words, “I no longer go in with the desperation for them to ‘fix me’, but rather for their support”. I was always looking to be fixed so I could get on and do what I had been doing before. I now see this is something that I have done to my body and that a quick fix does not heal. I no longer see pain as a hinderance; but for me to stop and really look at what I am doing to myself. Sometimes it takes a little while for me to be really honest, and this is where practitioners can be an amazing support. I never used to take pain relief but I now see that this is also a support and part of the healing. When you are in pain you hold and protect your body in a certain way and that restricts your movement and how you heal. I also, like you, used to go to Physiotherapists and Chiropractors (sometimes weekly!) to get rid of the pain. Since attending Universal Medicine I have not felt the need to go in that same way and definitely have changed the way I approach healing – which now includes a willingness to understand the true underlying cause of my pain, as well as seeking pain relief.

    1. That was my favourite line as well – because that is how I have used Doctors and Practitioners in the past, whereas support is exactly the right word as we need to take responsibility for our own health first… and then get support.

  280. Thanks Lisa, so many great stories of people’s lives benefitting from the choices they are making.

  281. I love your last two paragraphs Lisa, especially how you shared that going to a Western Medicine practitioner or an Esoteric practitioner from time to time is a support to you (not a ‘fix it’ solution), as is the way you have learned to be with your self/body now. Thanks for your beautiful posting.

  282. Thank you Lisa for sharing your story. It highlights how we can be living a life with lots of complications and things going on for us in the body, which at times get so messy that Western Medicine finds it very difficult to work out what is going on with us. It also introduces that we can know our bodies and bring about a change within them if we keep things very simple and listen to what they are saying. I too am learning to listen to my body, supporting it with both Western Medicine and Esoteric Healing. Because as Lisa has written the feeling in my body is also my ‘marker of truth’.
